At Max Performance we are VERY appreciative of ALL the volunteers at our races. We thank you in advance for helping us put on such great events!  Without your assistance & enthusiasm our races would not be the successes they have become known for. So Thank You!


What do I need to know in order to volunteer?

All you need to be is willing and able. We’ll provide you with all the information and supplies that you need.


What do I get for volunteering?

On event day, each volunteer will be provided with a shirt, breakfast, coffee, snacks and drinks for throughout the event, and access to all of the post race amenities at the finish line.

Looking to get a race discount? Volunteer at a Max race and receive 50% off your next race entry! 


GROUPS & ORGANIZATIONS:

Max reciprocates handsomely when 12 or more volunteers from a group or organization attend our events, bring the cheer, and assist with race day support! Wanna take it to the next level? 20 or more volunteers doubles your return! Please inquire if you’re a local organization, team, or club that would like to join us on Race Weekend. We work with YMCAs, Rotary clubs, High School teams/clubs, Community Organizations, & Tri Teams to help reach your fundraising initiatives!

Typical Volunteer Positions:

  • Transition Area

    Greeting and directing athletes into & out of the Transition Area on Race Day. Are you ready to bring the cheer and enthusiasm?! Thank you! Arriving after 5:45 with your athlete? No worries, we understand and appreciate your support when you arrive.

  • Swim Buddy

    Are you a strong swimmer that likes to encourage athletes along their first leg of the journey?! Then please join us to support swimmers at Title 9. We ask that you are a confident swimmer and if you have some additional training, that is appreciated but not required.

  • Registration

    Welcome athletes & provide packets, plus all the goodies! Ideally 5:45 AM to greet, but we will gladly accept a bit later, especially if you're arriving with an athlete. Thank you!

  • Saturday Setup Team

    Assist race directors in the setup of bike racks, barricades and cones onsite at the lake. Athlete who volunteer are eligible to receive deep discounts on race entries!

  • Breakdown Team Sunday

    Are you available to help breakdown equipment on Sunday from 11:30AM - 3PM?

  • Saturday Packet Pickup at the Lake

    Welcome and greet athletes on Saturday at Hopkinton State Park! This is always one of the busiest and most fun parts of the weekend. You'll check IDs and handout race packets with coordination from Max staff.
